Certification Requirements for the Hobbs Fire Department

 

Hobbs Fire Department Training Division Core Training Values

  • SERVICE

The department continues its commitment to the community and its citizens with training to fulfill our mission “to deliver the best possible service to our community”.

  • TRAINING

The department will perform quality training using the vision and values of our department as a guide to complete our mission.

Training will be effective and focused towards the development of the services we provide in order to instill safety, confidence, team work, and meet the departments’ mission of “Preservation, Education and Professionalism”.

All members of the public are entitled to our best efforts during emergency response and training.

We value the faith and trust of the community, and continually strive to serve that confidence through quality training development.

We strive for excellence in everything we do and will train for excellence in all skills necessary to complete our mission.

We will provide professionalism and courteous service at all times through training.

Training is our priority, second only to emergency response.

  • SAFETY

Safety is priority first, last and always.

We strive to keep our citizens free from danger, especially deliberate,

Harmful acts, using the best equipment and safe training.

The department can reduce the risk to the public and its members at fires, emergencies and medical incidents through safe quality training

The enormous commitment necessary to perform the department’s tasks requires excellence of character. We inspire each other through pride in our department, which is a belief that every action reflects on all the members of the department, both past and present.

EMS requirements
Basic EMT- New Mexico Licensure
Intermediate EMT- IV technician within 2 years of hire - New Mexico Licensure
